THE PLAN MAN
Are you a fan of Korean dramas or movies?
I am one and today, I'd like to share with you a romantic comedy called "The Plan Man" starring Jung Jae-young and Han Ji-min.
It's about a man who has the need to plan out everything he does, on a daily basis. He has to set his alarm to everything including the time he leaves for work, takes a shower, buys his lunch and even a specific time to propose to the girl he fell in love with.
THE PLAN MAN AND I
After having my second child, I found myself to resemble the Plan Man.
I started to have the need to set the timer to remind me of things I need to do, lest I forget and cause a disaster.
If you are a SAHM, I am sure you have to multitask a lot too, just like me.
Get meals done,
feed the baby,
send the toddler to school and fetch him home,
read with him,
do the laundry,
clean the house,
bathe the baby,
etc..
Like the scene below:
After putting the rice to steam in the wok, I went to help my son with his homework.
Then my phone rang. The insurance guy called to give me the quotation for my car's insurance and road tax.
After putting down the call, I went to make the payment online.
Son: Mummy, how to spell "cartoon"?
Me: C. A. R. T. O. O. N
Then I get back to making the payment. As soon as I clicked the "confirm payment" button, my daughter who was taking a nap woke up and said: Mummy, can I have my snack now?
Me: OK. Got get yourself some snacks.
Son: Mummy, can you help me with this Math problem? I don't understand the question.
Me: Wait, dear. Let me get both of you some drinks first, ok. You can have a 5-minute break.
Then off I went to get the drinks while the kids chatted and helped themselves to snacks....
And...
I decided to chill a bit and call my mom on the phone, just to chat.
A few minutes into the call...
Ring!!! Ring!!! Ring!!!
Me: Sorry Ma! I need to go. I have to turn off the fire on the stove and start preparing dinner.
Had I not set the alarm, I would have burnt the wok if I got carried away with the conversation on the phone or my children's needs.
With so much on my plate, I have to multitask to get things done on time. Having a schedule definitely helps but the alarm clock helps to prevent unwanted accidents or me missing out something important. 😓
How about you? How do you manage your daily tasks? Do share with us, especially if you have anything else to add.
Have a nice day! 😀
